Melissa McCarthy exudes confidence and she wants to help other women feel the same!
Last fall, the actress launched her clothing line, Melissa McCarthy Seven7, and she often rocks the clothes on the red carpet. She recently shared with reporters at a Los Angeles press conference for her new movie, The Boss, that while she may be new to the design world, it's something she's always been passionate about.
“It’s something that I’ve dreamed of doing since I was probably in sixth grade,” the mom-of-two said. “I started making clothing, my grandmother was a seamstress.”
McCarthy's line comes in sizes 2-26W and she hopes her clothes will make women of all sizes feel beautiful. “I am a size 14," she revealed.
“A good portion of women in America are size 14 and higher," McCarthy explained in Redbook. "I just try to make clothing that’ll make all women feel really good."
Not one to sit back, the hard-working actress spilled that she's very hands-on when it comes to the design process.
"I find it wildly creative," she admitted. She also said the design work is “fantastically rewarding,” and that she’s “loving every single minute of it!”
McCarthy added, “Every time I fight for a seam or a better fabric or something, I think the fight’s worthwhile."
