The YouTube beauty community is full of amazing and occasionally hilarious trends, and the latest craze to go around is girls having someone else narrate their makeup tutorials. First, it was significant others, and now it's turned to dads, with plenty of users uploading basic makeup tutorials narrated by totally clueless friends and family members.
One of those videos is from 13-year-old YouTuber Megan Michell, who asked her dad to narrate her everyday makeup routine. Michell's dad begins the video by telling viewers her primer is made "from the sweat of elves," before calling her concealer "Pocahontas gel."
The teen's dad offers even more hilarious witticisms as the video progresses before ending with, "I think I look great."
Michell shared her video on YouTube last month, and it was recently shared on Facebook and now has over 39 million views.
“That’s the kind of stuff my dad says all the time,” Michell told Buzzfeed. “So, when I first watched the video, I was just like, oh yeah, that’s my dad, whatever. So for other people to find it hilarious was super weird!”
“[My dad] thinks that I have way too much makeup and spend way too much time on that kind of stuff,” she added. “But I think overall he’s proud that I do it as a hobby and not because I’m insecure or anything.”
“He’s proud that I have something I’ve stuck to, that I have fun doing,” she said.
