People are really telling me to die & how disgusting I look because I wear makeup. Oh & calling me Humpty Dumpty. What's wrong with society— Mrs. Galvez (@sarah_manzi00) December 30, 2016
When 17-year-old Sarah Manzanares is pursuing her dream of doing make up and shares her work online in the midst of battling a type of cancer, Hodgkin lymphoma.
“I have a tumor that pushes on the right side of my heart, sits in between my heart valves, and on my trachea,” she said in an interview.
According to Buzzfeed, her work has been shared more than 170,000 times. While many have agreed, some people just are never impressed by anything good.
I will never understand why some of y'all feel the need to say unnecessary things for shock value or to be labeled "savage." It's pathetic. pic.twitter.com/VBi3EqjECT— nañi (@pettyblackgirI) December 27, 2016
this is honestly one of the worst things i have seen on this site, you must be a really insecure person to be making fun of a cancer patient pic.twitter.com/ezsK8yCw3b— zamin. (@syedazs) December 27, 2016
Many have taken to Twitter to defend the aspiring artist. Needless to say, Manzanares says she’s grateful for all the love and support and has decided to make a makeup channel for cancer patients.
The channel will include tips on how to cope with depression and chemo nausea and hopes to bring more awareness to cancer.
