It's time to perfect your “bend and snap,” because Reese Witherspoon is definitely ready for more of everyone’s favorite Gemini vegetarian to return to the big screen.
According to Entertainment Weekly, in a recent interview with E! News, Witherspoon said she was looking forward to the idea of a third film, but needed someone really clever to come up with a script starring the beloved Elle Woods.
“I do think it’s a good time to do it,” the Academy Award-winning actress said. “I think women need that kind of positivity right now.”
Hinting that it would be great to see Elle Woods in the Oval Office, Witherspoon also shared what she believes a Trump presidency means for women.
“We have many rights and freedoms that a lot of women don’t have all over the world. I try to celebrate that,” she said in an interview with E! News. “I try to live that to its utmost, particularly the freedom of speech, being able to express myself, create shows like this to show how important women are in our world. That’s what I try to focus on.”
As we wait patiently for the third film with Elle and Bruiser, Witherspoon can next be seen the HBO dramedy series, Big Little Lies — a miniseries based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Liane Moriaty. Witherspoon produces and stars in the highly anticipated series, premiering Feb. 19 on HBO. Check your local listings.
