Ari Schultz spent 211 days at Boston Children’s Hospital, and last week, the brave 5-year-old learned that he would be getting a new heart.

Schultz had been diagnosed with a heart defect during his ultrasound, and the news that doctors had found a new heart for him was a welcome relief for the family. To celebrate, Ari's parents shared a video of the moment he heard the good news on YouTube, and his reaction is absolutely priceless.

In the clip, Ari's parents, Mike and Erica Schultz, share the news with their son, who can't quite seem to believe his ears at first. While he's clearly excited, he's a bit worried about what will happen to him after he gets his new heart, but he ultimately ends on a happy note with a giant smile.

“Are you scared?” Mike asks his son.

“Yeah,” says Ari.

“Are you excited too?” adds Erica.

“Yeah!” Ari replies.

Ari received his new heart last week and is currently healing in the cardiac ICU at Boston Children's Hospital.

“He is awake, the breathing tube is out and he’s breathing on his own. Ari has a very long road ahead of him, but so far his new heart is cooperating,” Mike and Erica Schultz, who provide updates on their son on their blog, Echo of Hope, told People. “We appreciate the outpouring of care and support we have received from around the world, and are focused on caring for Ari during this crucial time. We will be forever grateful to the donor family for their selfless act, and our hearts go out to them.”

Ari's parents are also raising money to support his medical expenses on GoFundMe.
