Starbucks Is Testing a Brand New Lunch Menu

| Trending News

Will we be giving up our favorite deli cafe for lunch at Starbucks?

On Tuesday, the coffee chain will offer a new lunch menu at over 100 Chicao spots in an effort to up its food game. The "Mercato" menu will have plenty of grab-and-go options, such as salads and sandwiches, in addition to sides.

According to The Chicago Tribune, the menu will also be perfect for nearly any food diet specifications, including vegan, high protein and gluten free. Notable menu items include a roasted carrot and kale salad, a Cubano sandwich and a seared steak and mango salad.

Salads range in price from 8 to 9 bucks, with sandwiches clocking in from 5 to 8 bucks. USA Today reports that any lunch items left over at the end of the day will be donated to local food banks via the Starbucks FoodShare program.

Although no one knows yet exactly when Starbucks lovers will be able to see the menu outside of the Windy City, a press release seems to indicate that if the launch is successful in the city, the lunch menu will be available nationwide.
