The collage of photos showed the couple on the beach with "October 2017" written in the sand.

"Mark and I could not be more overjoyed for our little miracle and we cannot wait to start this journey of parenthood!" she continued. "'For this child I have prayed and the Lord has granted the desires of my heart' 1 Samuel 1:27."

Patterson, who sat out the 2016 Olympics due to concerns over the Zika virus, had previously won All-around gold, Team silver, and Balance Beam silver medals in the 2004 games in Athens.

Congratulations to the expectant parents, we cannot wait to see the little one when they arrive!
