Steve Harvey's ex-wife Mary Shackleford is suing the television host for $60 million and alleging torture, child endangerment and more, E! News reports.
The pair were married 1996-2005, and Shackleford is alleging that her life has not been the same since their split. She is accusing Harvey of child endangerment, torture, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract, and "soul murder," which the suit describes as "a combination of torture,
"The plaintiff had [lost] her son, had her businesses taken from her, nowhere to live, all Mother's Days had been painful and empty," continued the suit, which was filed in a court of law by Shackleford's "civil rights activist."
Shackleford, who shares a 19-year-old son with Harvey, alleged that she was suicidal and had to resort to self-medication after the pair's divorce.
Harvey's lawyer denied the allegations in a statement to Us Weekly.
"Mr. Harvey vehemently denies any allegations set forth in the lawsuit," the statement reads. "The Complaint is meritless, frivolous and the allegations are completely false,” the statement reads. “We will vigorously defend/counterclaim against the Complaint."
