The shooter in the June 14th incident in Alexandria, Virginia has been identified. According to multiple law enforcement sources, the shooter was 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson, of Belleville, Illinois.
Hodgkinson's wife spoke to ABC News and revealed her husband has been living in Alexandria for the past two months.
Around 7 a.m. ET, at least four people, including Rep. Steve Scalise, were injured when a shooter opened fire at a baseball field, where Republican lawmakers were having practice for an upcoming charity congressional baseball game.
Law enforcement told the outlet that the suspect was injured and moved to George Washington University Hospital. Police confirmed Hodgkinson is in custody and that his motive is currently unknown.
President Donald Trump addressed the incident from the White House and said Hodgkinson has since died from his injuries.
Victims have been transported to local hospitals and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken control of the crime scene.
Scalise's injury isn't life-threatening and he is undergoing surgery. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those affected.
