Watch: French Camper Expands to an Incredible Three Times Its Size in Seconds

| Trending News

While more convenient than pitching tents on camping adventures, towable campers have limited size, thus making nature’s wide-open spaces feel a little cramped.

But the French company, Beauer hopes to change that.

As reported by Curbed, the Beauer 3X trailer is an expandable camper that triples in size in mere seconds due to its telescoping design. The camper, first conceived in 2009, goes from 20 feet long to 130 square feet of living space in 20 seconds.

The camper is able to go from small to spacious due to its telescoping design. The three modules that make up the Beauer 3X fit inside one another like cans. When nested together, the furniture inside the camper folds inside each other and all windows and doors to the camper are fully sealed to secure the camper and contents.

Inside the expanded camper, users experience actual rooms, such as a bedroom with a double bed, a dining room with a table, and a kitchen that features a two-burner stove, sink, ridge and sofa. The camper even has a full, albeit small, bathroom which most campers do not have at all.

The Beauer 3X will have a starting cost of $33,000 and will be available in France in Europe beginning in 2018. Release dates and retailers for the United States have not yet been released, but you can bet demand for them will be high!
