A Texas woman is causing a stir after she recently snapped a selfie at a hospital with her sister, clearly in pain, giving birth in the background.
Kat Armendariz, 27, took the photo while her 20-year-old sister, Kimberly, was giving birth on June 29, telling Inside Edition that she asked Kimberly for permission before snapping the shot.
“I told her, 'I am going to take this selfie and you can thank me later,' " said Armendariz, who has five children of her own. “I warned her that I wanted to take a selfie while she was in pain because I did my time already.”
After the selfie was taken, Kimberly, who was in labor for 15 hours at Sierra Providence East Medical Center in El Paso, welcomed her first child, a healthy son named Zayden.
“I didn’t know what I was going to feel, but at that moment, she got it right on time,” Kimberly said of her sister's photo.

“I wanted to capture that moment from the bottom of my heart. It was out of love," Armendariz explained, adding, “I am her sister and a pain in the butt.”
