Sometimes picking the right workout clothes can be tricky. Sure, we know what NOT to wear to the gym, but what are our best options when it comes to workout clothes? Gone are the days in which gym-goers wore a simple t-shirt and pair of shorts. And while that's completely okay to wear, what are all your options?
Supportive sports bra: Choosing the right sports bra might be the most important decision you make when it comes to gym attire. A good sports bra can be the difference between getting in an awesome workout or a painful experience. Not only will it be more comfortable while you work out, but you'll also be saving yourself from saggy boobies and unnecessary sweat.
Fitted tops: A baggy cotton t-shirt won't do you any good when you're trying to check your form. Pick a top that's form-fitting and made of moisture-wicking or quick-drying materials. 100% cotton clothing will absorb your sweat, resulting in a heavy, sweaty mess that might even increase chafing. Check your gym requirements when buying tank tops to be sure that you're not breaking dress code. Most gyms won't let you wear a sports bra as a top, so leave that for running outdoors during those hot summer days.

Bottoms: Running shorts are perfect for exercises on the treadmill or elliptical, but you might want to try out cropped yoga pants or cropped leggings for other types of activity like yoga, Pilates or general activity. Again, make sure the material will dry quickly and reduce chafing. Above all else, you want to be comfortable in your workout gear or else you will be distracted the whole time. Finding a pair of pants or shorts with an adjustable waistline is ideal.
Proper footwear: Not all gym shoes are created equal! Cross trainers are good for general activity except for running, in which you will obviously want to wear running shoes. If your feet require extra arch support or padding, stop by a retail store for professional advice.
Headbands: Headbands are a girl's best friend when it comes to working out. Keep a couple extra headbands like Sweaty Bands in your gym bag just in case you forget to wear one. Your workout will be so much more focused without your long locks getting your eyes and sticking to your sweaty forehead.

Makeup: If you're coming from work or errands and must wear makeup while you work out, be sure to wear a light foundation that won't clog your pores. Waterproof mascara is also a plus so that it doesn't run once you get sweaty.

No jewelry: Rings, necklaces and dangly earrings can all get in the way during a workout and cause potential injury, or they could even become damaged themselves. It's better to leave all jewelry at home while you're working out — even your wedding ring.
