Workout Challenge: Take it Outside!

When the weather cooperates and you don't have time to go to the gym, take your workout outside for a change of scenery. This workout is completely equipment-free, which makes it even easier for the busy mom who's interested in entering the fitness world. A little cardio paired with some killer muscle-building moves makes this the perfect workout for any fitness level.


Run or walk a mile: Walking extended distances has been known to reduce the risk of heart disease and enhance your mental wellbeing — just to name a few. Running is also great cardio, and functions as a total body workout. If you're just beginning, try The Couch to 5k program, which teaches you a run/walk method that will quickly whip you into shape.

15 Pushups: This workout activates your entire body, using all major muscle groups in a big way. When you finish your run, throw in 15 pushups to keep your workout going strong. Learn how to do a proper pushup here!


10 Walking Lunges: This move targets your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes, making it the trifecta of lower body workouts. If you need to brush up on form, click here!
