Jennifer Lopez doesn't need makeup to be beautiful. She proved that in an Instagram video showing off a makeup-free look before taking the stage on Friday in Las Vegas for her “All I Have” residency show at the AXIS Theatre inside Planet Hollywood.
“So this is what it’s like before the show,” she said in the video. “I sit here, no hair, no makeup, no nothing. Trying to get mentally prepared to give you all I have.”
The 47-year-old mom of two donned a white robe with her hair in a bun and a fresh, dewy face. So how is her skin so flawless? It's all in her healthy diet.
J-Lo's trainer Tracy Anderson says the World of Dance judge sticks to unprocessed organic food for every meal, snack and everything in between. She eats plenty of protein, fruits and veggies for a super nutrient-rich diet.
“It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food,” Anderson told PEOPLE. “Everything is fresh. There’s nothing processed – just [protein powder] in a shake if we do a protein shake one day.”
Lopez isn't the only star to post a makeup-free selfie, however. Ahead are our favorite fresh faces from Hollywood.
24-year-old Demi Lovato owned her natural beauty in a freckel-filled selfie in March. “No makeup, just freckles,” Lovato captioned with a selfie of her barefaced and relaxing in bed.
While some fans called her out on wearing false eyelashes, other embraced Lovato’s natural photograph with comments that read, “You look more beautiful without makeup on,” while others added, “You definitely don’t need makeup to look beautiful.”
Lovato is a particularly relatable role model for young women, as she opened up to SELF in 2012 about not always feeling so confident.
“I’ve spent the past two years getting over an eating disorder and issues like self-harming and bipolar disorder. Unlike a person who doesn’t have these problems, I have to work on this stuff every day,” she said. “I’m reminded of that whenever I eat or feel down.”
Katie Holmes shared a series of stunning makeup-free selfies on Instagram last year — and her fans were loving it.
“More beautiful without makeup – you cannot improve already-genuine beauty,” wrote one Instagram user.
Brie Larson shared an emotional message of self love last summer after "trustfalling" into the Internet. She had previously posted a photo where she discussed her qualms in insecurities at one of her first film festival experiences — before she was an Oscar-winning actress.
In her makeup-free selfie, she wrote: "We should all have the freedom to be our authentic selves without fear or judgement. It's scary to chip away at all the hardness we coat ourselves with to protect that perfect little being inside."
Woke up this morning thinking about the tidal wave of support I got this weekend. It was nerve-racking to trust fall into the Internet! I know who I am, but its wild how quickly you can forget once someone calls you something terrible. I was reminded how the acceptance of community is a deeply rooted need - but I don't want to live worried people will hate me because I'm myself! We should all have the freedom to be our authentic selves without fear or judgement. It's scary to chip away at all the hardness we coat ourselves with to protect that perfect little being inside. Yeah, people can be mean, but they can also be so many other wonderful things too. Let's make this place a safe space. No hate and more understanding. To the followers that are new: welcome! Sometimes I let people take over my Instagram to share their views of the world. That's coming up next. Thanks for joining us!
Who can forget Adele's makeup-free selfies? The Grammy-winning singer shared two stripped-down photos in Vancouver last summer, where she performed multiple shows at Rogers Arena.
Kunis bared it all when she appeared on the cover of Glamour last August wearing no makeup. She opted out of the high-glam beauty products and instead wore only skin serum, eye cream and lip balm.
The shoot came naturally for Kunis, who said she doesn't typically wear makeup. “I don’t wear makeup. I don’t wash my hair every day. It’s not something that I associate with myself,” she said. “I commend women who wake up 30, 40 minutes early to put on eyeliner. I think it’s beautiful. I’m just not that person.”
We love that Ariel Winter isn't afraid to express herself. The Modern Family star continued her body positive journey with this makeup-free selfie.
"I've been through a rollercoaster with myself definitely, growing up in the public eye," she told Entertainment Tonight. "But I think now as I've gotten older...I've had so many people around to help me learn to accept myself and that's been really amazing for me."
"It's a journey for everybody to find a way to be able to love themselves completely and never be insecure," she continued.
While the 36-year-old singer and songwriter had gone makeup-free before the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, she made headlines last summer after walking the red carpet completely fresh faced.
Instead of calling in one of the best makeup artists to get her ready for the event, she decided to walk the carpet with no makeup.
As Keys said of the decision: “’Cause I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”
"I'm a sweaty mess, but I'm a sweaty mess in an adorable tank!" she captioned the photo.
Even drenched in sweat after a tough workout, the 34-year-old country music superstar's confidence shines through in her beauty and smile. (Want to get legs like hers? Check out her workout right here.)
The 47-year-old singer and judge on The Voice looked younger than ever when she shared this early-morning make-up free Snapchat last spring.
While Stefani has rocked many bold moves throughout the years, this fresh-faced look may be our favorite.
