A Wintry Escape: womanistas, it’s officially my birthday week!! I turn THIRTY (30!!) a week from today and my husband and I will be celebrating on a snowy mountain.
I can’t wait to click into my skis and sail down the slopes (but let’s be honest, I’m WAY more excited for a little apres ski champagne while lounging beside a crackling fire!) Needless to say, I’m really excited to say sayonara to my twenties and ring in a new decade of my life during a cozy, snowy vacation.
Girls of Grace: This incredible conference for teen girls (and their parents!) is coming to Nashville, TN on Feb 23rd! If you aren’t familiar with “Girls of Grace”, it was started in 2002 as a way to get teen girls to discuss their issues and learn biblical tools to face them – and feel strength in the security of Christ. We all know the teen years are NOT easy, and it helps to hear that you aren’t alone!
The Girls of Grace conference features speakers, live music, and fun, interactive panels discussing body image, fashion, social media, relationships, etc. Two of the speakers also happen to be fabulous friends – Amber Lehman & Annie Downs – and trust me, you don’t want to miss what they have to say. I am constantly learning grace, humility, and strength from both of them!
Pops of Neon: One thing is for sure in fashion this spring, neon is everywhere! And I love it. I like embracing neon in its full, bright, can’t-look-away glory, but I LOVE it showing some restraint. Just a little pop of neon goes a long way in your spring wardrobe.
These soft, neutral flats from J. Crew feature creamy beige leather with a navy elastic band on top – and a highlighter yellow cap toe! How fun is that? They are totally wearable, yet modern and distinctive.
Margerum “Uber” Syrah: I recently spent the weekend in Santa Barbara (ps – loved it!) and following an afternoon of walking around downtown, we happened upon the swanky, fun tasting room belonging to Margerum Wine Company.
We sipped and chatted with the super nice and helpful lady pouring their wines, and fell in love with this noteworthy syrah. It is blended from the grapes of seven incredible vineyards in Santa Barbara County to create a rhone-style wine. It is bold, spicy and complex, and perfectly drinkable on a cold February night. It is delicious!
Happy February, womanistas! And make sure to follow my instagram @Womanista for lots of daily glamspiration!
