On Tuesday night I got glammed up for the BMI Country Music Awards ceremony, which is one of my favorite parties of the year. The food and wine are great, and it’s so fun to hang with friends. Our table this year was the best ever, and one of my husband’s great friends, Dallas Davidson, was honored with songwriter of the year! (His wife, Sarah, is one of my besties and a super talented singer/songwriter herself! She’s also a super glam, gorgeous fashion diva!) The night was glittery and fun and fabulous. Here are a few pics of me getting ready for the big night!
My eye makeup was a blend of gold and bronzes, with thick black liner on my top lash line. We used this eye makeup as the inspiration, but made it a little bit softer. I’m wearing the Smoke & Mirror’s “Heart” lash here.
I painted my nails and toes with a new Essie color called “Butler, Please” that I picked up from the drugstore. I’m obsessed.
After getting dressed, Mary Beth applied body makeup to my arms, back and shoulders. This smooths out any imperfections, and also gives me a semblance of a tan (woohoo!) We stuffed paper towels on the neckline of my dress so that the makeup wouldn’t get all over it.
Side note: I loved my hair ‘do. I didn’t get ANY pics at the salon when Earl was creating these gorge, cascading curls, so I’ll just tell you how he did it without showing a photo (sorry!) He started by clipping in my extensions and spraying my hair with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. He then curled all of my hair with a 1.5 inch barrel curling iron. After he curled each piece, he created a “pin curl” and clipped it up to my scalp. We let it sit for about 20 mins, and then took all the curls out, and styled it.
The finished product! I’m ready to toast to a good night. And it certainly was!
You can see the FAB Giuseppe Zanotti heels in this pic. I’m obsessed with the gold hardware!
