On Wednesday night, Nashville celebrated the CMA Awards (also known as “Country Music’s Biggest Night!”) The show was really, really great and it was fun to sip some champagne & catch up with friends while wearing a gown & some diamonds (more on those diamonds later – they were AMAZING!)
I started my day at Trumps Salon where Earl Cox created an sleek, simple look for my hair. My gown was pretty-statement worthy and I didn’t want my hair to be too “fussy” – otherwise I could have looked like a 30-year-old going to prom. After a wash & blow-dry, Earl flat-ironed my hair, clipped in my extenstions, and then used a few velcro rollers to give my hair a little volume on top and some movement.
For my makeup, I was inspired by this smoky cat eye – it’s definitely an evening look, but has a softness to it. I wanted my makeup to look pretty, but not too over-the-top. Beyond my eye makeup, Mary Beth Felts gave me a rosy cheek & a peach, glossy lip. Pretty & chic. (on a side note, I got my makeup done next to Kacey Musgraves’ fabulous Nana, her date for the evening. She looked equally gorgeous!)
After my makeup was fully done, Earl pulled out the rollers & finished my hair. I absolutely loved it, plus it was so easy to wear!
And now y’all, my gown. My GOWN!!! I was in love. I was first introduced to Olia Zavozina when one of my best friends, Kelly Jarrell, got married. She wore an incredible gown that was not only tailored to perfection, but it was stylish & perfectly “her”. So when I had the opportunity to check out some of Olia’s other gowns for the CMA awards, I was SO excited. I wore the “Delia” gown, in blush. From the second I saw it, I knew it was “the one” – the incredible detailing, the gorgeous fabric, and soft color were all stunning and perfectly “me”. I asked Olia to change the hem to make it a little more “red carpet ready” and she loved the idea.
Here I am with Kelli Haywood – it’s so fun to have her to chat with while our husbands are doing interviews!
To accessorize my gown, I wore Jimmy Choo “Sierra” Sandals (they are old, but you can get a similar look HERE or HERE) And then came my jewelry. Y’all, I was wearing close to 200 carats of diamonds. YES, ALMOST 200 CARATS OF DIAMONDS! I discovered Nashville’s best kept jewelry secret when I met Randi Williams of Williams Gallery about a week ago. She not only has an INCREDIBLE eye for the special & fabulous, but she generously loaned me and some other fabulous ladies some ridiculously gorgeous bling for the CMA Awards (Caroline Bryan’s AMAZE necklace? Yep, that’s from Williams Gallery. Kellie Pickler’s stunning earrings & bracelet? Yep. That’s her too.)
I was lucky enough to wear some rose-cut diamond earrings set in platinum, as well as an art-deco diamond bracelet from the 1930s. And did I mention the 145 carat diamond necklace?? yep. I was seriously blinged-out! The jewelry added a glam dimension to my whole look that I absolutely loved.
And finally, here we all are on the red carpet (Doesn’t my husband look SO HANDSOME in his Tom Ford suit?!). What a FUN night!
