If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you probably already know that I’m renovating a house (and if this is your first visit to Womanista, why hello! Thanks for reading! Get cozy and enjoy the fabulous!) …but back to the house renovation. We are done! All of the decision making, hard work, and dust is finally settled – and literally, the dust is settling. Lots of that to clean up!
Our fabulous designer, Lindsay from the Iron Gate, absolutely nailed our vision and helped us create a home that we LOVE (if there is a stronger word than love, I would use it here. Obsessed, maybe.) I thought I would share a few of my favorite things with all of you fabulous womanistas.
Pretty pink chair:

This chair resides in what we loving call “The ladies lounge” – It has a total “chic, boutique hotel” vibe and it is only appropriate to lounge in this room while drinking chilled champagne. You get the idea. It’s over the top and fabulous and my husband will probably never find himself relaxing in there. But i’m obsessed with it!
Geometric light fixture:

This fixture greets you with whimsy when you enter the house. I love it because it’s not too serious, and adds a fun element to the entry way!
“Kate Spade” drapery:

This drapery from Loom Decor really adds a pop of color to the primarily neutral color palate of our house. It reminds me of a chic Kate Spade design and it gives our guest room the feel of a fashionable, luxurious hotel room. I loved working with the girls at Loom, too. (Thanks, Nichole!)
Heart painting:

This painting was a gift from my husband on Valentine’s Day last year. It was the inspiration for the “Ladies Lounge” – I love it because the heart is not perfect, but it’s bold, bright, and strong – which is a lot like love, in general. Plus, what’s more romantic than getting the gift of gorgeous art from someone you love??
Glorious, dream kitchen:

I can’t even begin to describe how much I love this kitchen. It is my absolute dream kitchen. The backsplash behind the sink is antique mirror tiles in a herringbone layout (insane, right??) Plus, the see-thru fridge is forcing me to keep it organized, but I love it because it adds some glitz. And let’s be honest, glitz is my middle name, so naturally i wanted a glitzy kitchen!
I really love everything in our new home, but those are just a few of my favorite touches…
Happy Decor-oogling, womanistas!
xo, the Womanista

Hi…not sure if my post went through ….didn’t see it, but I’d love to find out where I could get the mirrored tiles?
Thanks.
~ Peggy
What a beautiful blessing. Can we talk resources? Where may I get the herringbone antiqued mirror tiles? Who manufactures them? Thank you
~ Peggy
Hey Peggy!! The tiles are really simple antiqued glass mirror that we actually had a glass company make for us. But it was a pretty simple request for them! They are about 3×1 in size, and the person who did the tile work laid them out in a herringbone pattern. It is one of my FAVORITE features in the kitchen!
Thanks for the tip on the glass tiles… You are a testimony to unstoppable vision!
~ Peggy
Ohhh! I forgot to ask about the colour of grout? That would be a nightmare if I got it wrong…yikes! xo
