Womanista Fashion: Evening Shorts

I am absolutely loving shorts these days, and a glammed-up pair for a night out gives a sexy edge to the casual-cool of summer. I found these AMAZING embellished linen shorts by Elizabeth & James at Haven in Franklin, TN. They are comfortable and chic, and are perfect for a breezy date night! I paired them with a flowy silk blouse from vince (old), sky-high woven wedges from Dolce & Gabbana, some Marti rings, a J.Crew bracelet, David Yurman earrings, a messy top knot and a red lip (Tarte glamazon pure-performance in “Fierce”).

For a similar evening glam look that won’t break the bank, this high-waisted linen pair of shorts from Forever 21 (less than $20!) blends perfectly with this silk blouse from “Hinge” (on sale at Nordstrom for $40!) - to add some glam, rock this embellished “Krishna Obi” belt from Free People and finish the look with these Steve Madden “Haywire” wedges (on sale for $45!) Total look: $163! Fabulous.

Top: Vince, Shorts: Elizabeth & James, Earrings: David Yurman, Lipstick: Tarte in “Fierce”, Bracelet: J.Crew

Nail Polish: Essie “Where’s My Chauffeur”, Rings: Marti

Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana, Polish: Essie “Trophy Wife”

Happy Summer womanistas! Are you loving glam shorts as much as I am? If so, let me know how you rock them! Tweet me @WomanistaStyle or tag me on Instagram @Womanista

I don’t look good in shorts:( I don’t actually have a slim figure..:( But I do envy all the people that looks as good as you in shorts.
    Do you use polyvore Cassie?

Hey Veronica! You most certainly do NOT have to have a slim figure to rock some shorts! I have a booty that rivals Kim Kardashian in size, and cellulite loves my thighs…being curvy is beautiful! The key is finding a cut that works for your body. Usually a bermuda short (to your knees) looks great on all figures, and the length that I’m wearing in these photos (mid thigh) does too! You just have to find the right cut/fabric for your body and give it a try! And yes, I love Polyvore! xo
