I live in boots during the fall & winter months. Casual boots, chic, “dressed up” boots and even Ugg boots (The horror! I know! But they are so cozy…) The bottom line is, boots couldn’t be more cool right now, so it’s time to pick up a key pair to amp up your cold-weather wardrobe. Make a statement with these top picks!

The Equestrian: This is your “go anywhere” boot. You can wear them day or night, with a dress or jeans, to a football game or to a baby shower. I wear mine everywhere, and have a pair in just about every neutral color.

This pair from Tory Burch will last you for years, and they are super-chic. I love the sleek lines of the hint of gold hardware on this pair. If you are going to invest in a boot style, this is the one, because a classic equestrian boot will always be fabulous.

To get the same riding boot style on a tighter budget, you can pick these up from Steve Madden for $229.

The Fringed: Fringe is so big for fall, and I love anything with texture so I am VERY excited about a fringe boot. You can get them in many different styles, but I love the statement that this tall pair from Christian Louboutin makes. They are shamelessly fabulous, and comfortable at the same time! The wedge platform gives you some added height that’s easy to wear all day.

I would rock these over skinny jeans with a printed blouse and a cropped jacket for a chic tailgating look (and for those of you who roll your eyes at looking fabulous for a football game, we do that in the South! Some tailgates at Ole Miss football games include fine china and chandeliers in their tents, so don’t judge…)

I am also in love with this “Catto” fringed pair from ALDO. They are fun and fabulous and won’t break the bank at $112 (they are on sale!)

The Printed Bootie: Prints are everywhere this season – from tops to handbags to accessories to shoes. There is no better place to rock a print than on a statement-worthy pair of boots. You can take something as casual as jeans and a v-neck tee and turn it into a night-out ensemble simply by adding a pair of printed booties.

This pair from Charlotte Olympia is UH-MAZING. The leopard print, the abstract platform, the stiletto. All fabulous. The key to rocking a pair of printed booties is to keep the rest of your outfit simple. Too many prints going on can take away from one amazing piece.

You can also rock the leopard look with this “Viper” platform bootie from Steve Madden. They exude party-perfect when you pair them with a silky blouse and mini.

The Casual-Cool Embellished: Since I love anything blinged and glitzy, I am obsessed with a casual pair of boots that adds some sass with a cool embellishment. This pair from Zara is so super fabulous.

It has the structure of a motorcycle boot, with blinged out studs and hardware. These are perfect paired with skinny black leggings and an oversized sweater with lots of texture. Plus, they are so easy to wear. This pair will likely be in my closet soon.

Happy boot shopping, womanistas! Tweet me pics of some of your favorite boots @WomanistaStyle!
