It’s almost Halloween! Who’s ready for a cocktail? For those of you hosting Halloween soirees this weekend (ps – fun! Tweet me pics of your costume @WomanistaStyle) it’s important to serve a great cocktail that will get your party started off right. (I mean, how can your bestie confidently wear her “Sexy Cop” costume without imbibing in a cold bev first?? Just kidding. Sort of.)
Here are a few delish, creative cocktails that your ghoulish guests are sure to enjoy!
SVEDKA After Dark
1 Part SVEDKA Clementine
1/2 part Sour Cherry Schnapps
1 Part Mango Juice
1/2 Part Orange Juice
Splash of Lime Juice
Candy Corn (for garnish)
Directions: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake gently, and strain into a glass. Garnish with candy corn.
The Red Head
1 1/2 oz. of Crystal Head Vodka
1/2 oz of PAMA Liqueur
Pomegranate slice
Directions: Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add Crystal Head Vodka and Pama.
Shake well and strain into martini glass. Garnish with a slice of pomegranate
Pumpkin Pie Frappe
2 oz. Four Roses Bourbon
4 tsp. pumpkin puree (canned) **see note below
2 tsp. Sugar in the Raw (or Turbinado or Demerara)
pinch ground cinnamon
pinch ground allspice
3 oz. half-and-half (use fat free for a ‘skinny’ version)
1 cup vanilla ice cream (slightly softened) (use fat free for a ‘skinny’ version)
Directions: Combine all of the above ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in nicely chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg
NOTE** there is a difference between ‘pumpkin puree’ and ‘pumpkin pie mix.’ Please use the puree – it really does make a difference!
Skulled Cider
1 1/2 oz. Crystal Head Vodka
1/2 oz. vanilla liqueur
1 oz. apple cider
dash of angostura bitters
Ginger Ale
Directions: Add all ingredients to a highball glass filled with ice in the order given. Give a quick stir and garnish with an apple slice on the rim or inside of the glass
