Womanista Holiday: The First Day of Summer!

Hello lovely womanistas!

I am SO ready for the hot, fabulous heat wave that is summertime! (Can I get an “amen!” on that one??) I’m craving a poolside cookout, a road trip to a cozy seaside town, a flowy cotton sundress on a balmy night, and an icy-cold margarita.

There is some exciting stuff coming up on Womanista (Hello, trip to Europe!) but I want to hear from YOU! What do you want to read about this summer? Do you want to deets on how to host a perfect summer picnic?

Do you need to find the right wine to pair with fresh grilled halibut (sauvignon blanc!) Are you dying to hear how to dress up shorts for a night out on the town (oh that’s just me? ok…)

Fill me in! What do you want to see on Womanista this summer? I want to hear about it!!

xo, the Womanista

Ahhh, the gorgeous picture above from Alys Beach is practically my backyard here in the panhandle of Florida. Next to Nashville (AND the Virgin Islands), it’s my favorite place! Definitely a must see for all!

Hey Christa! Alys Beach is one of my favorite places too :-) Thanks for reading!

It would be fun to read your opinion about the Skandinavian shops. I think it’s more expencive shopping in Europe than in the USA. Especially Norway.

I’d love to see another Summer Playlist! I downloaded a lot of the songs from your first post, but I’ve almost overdone ‘em!

Alright, Mary! I have an “evening cocktail” list in the works. Stay tuned!

    Womanista,
I would love it if you could tell us more about some of your favorite places in and around Nashville. I am a graduate student at Vanderbilt and always looking for great happy hours, date night restaurants, special occasion brunches with my family, or the perfect pedicure. Thank you so much!

Hey Ronnie! A “best of Nashville” guide is in the works :-) Thanks so much for reading! Have you tried Kayne Prime for a date? I also LOVE Tavern for brunch (as well as Marche in East Nashville!) Stay tuned for more favorites…xo

I always like your beauty product ideas! I just ordered the Tarte luminizer that you recommended and it is FAB!

I love the idea of you telling us about your kitchen adventures! Practice recipes on girls nights when your husband is out of town… or test them on a lazy Tuesday night at home and share some reviews.

Here’s a really sweet cooking/entertaining blog that is completely manageable. Maybe she can provide some inspiration! http://jennysteffens.blogspot.com/ Rather than creating your own recipes and original ideas, copy other people’s and let us know how they turn out.

    Enjoy the new beautiful kitchen!

Kate, the only issue with the new glorious kitchen is that I’m afraid to mess it up! Ha. I’ll check out that blog and get to cooking! Xo

Um, yes you can definitely get an “Amen!” from me on the official start of summer!

Since you’re asking, I’d love to read more about your bargain fashion and beauty buys. I like it when you share some of your super affordable fashion tips mixed in with the fun stuff that I do like to dream about affording someday. I may be a little biased though, since I’m a mostly stay-at-home-mom with a husband who is a full-time graduate student.

I also really love to read your restaurant (and other entertainment) reviews of the cities you visit. I plan to bookmark them and use them when we can travel again someday.

Oh, and if you have any fun summer recipes to share, I’m always looking for dishes to try, either on my family or for an evening get together with friends.

Thanks for writing such a fun, entertaining blog. :-)

Thanks for the suggestion! I love doing the “looks for less” posts too. One is coming right up for you :-) thanks for reading! Xo
