There are few things I love more in this world than the incredible sandy beaches of 30A & my fabulous girlfriends. The good news is, NEXT WEEKEND (Jan 30-Feb 2) you can enjoy both with the Rosemary Beach 9th annual “Girls Getaway”!

There are so many fun events, including a kickoff party with delish cocktails & red carpet arrivals and a songwriter’s night with some incredibly talented singer-songwriters from Nashville. You can also spend Saturday morning browsing chic jewelry & original designs from some local artisans, including Mary Hong, who was named “South Walton Artist of the Year” – bottom line, it’s a great opportunity to put your toes in the sand and celebrate your girlfriends with cocktails, music, jewelry, & fun.

Tickets are available for $160 and benefit the Suzy Fund of Sacred Heart Hospital which gives free mammograms to women who are underserved in the south walton community (so fun & for a great cause!)

The even better news? I have TWO free tickets to give away! Want to join the fun? Tell me why your girlfriends are awesome & special to you by submitting a short paragraph to contact@womanista.com. I’ll pick a winner on Friday and you & your bestie can enjoy the festivities! (*NOTE: you must provide your own transportation & accommodations to rosemary beach)

I’ll leave y’all with a pic of me and some of my fabulous, inspiring, wonderful, kind & FUN girlfriends during a girls trip to Rosemary Beach last summer…and remember to tell YOUR friends how fab they are, today!

xo, the Womansita

I’m submitting my two favorite women in my life. My beautiful wife and daughter. My wife of thirty years is one of the most amazing women who works with others to improve the quality of life. She also went through breast cancer treatment traveling dozens of times to UAB. Her focus on a positive outcome never waivered and we are very pleased that the cancer is now gone. My daughter is also a mirror image of her mother. She is in her final semester of college getting her degree in health care management. During her entire college life, she was able to balance full time work while maintaining a very high grade level.

They both love SoWal and deserve to be have a mother/daughter pampering to celebrate two amazing accomplishments in their lives…

    Hi!
My girlfriends are awesome and special to me because they are the epitome of support! Whether it be meeting for a glass (or bottle :-) of wine, a FaceTime chat across the country, or a early morning text to say “I love you and belivei n you!), the ones I call “sisters” whether blood or not, are my rocks. I recently went through a divorce (3 years ago at the age of 30! EEEKKK!!) and noone prepares for that. Needless to say, you find our who your TRUE friends are in moments like that. My older sister, who is only a year older than me, married for 10 years with 2 boys, and drives a minivan (shes in a totally different place than me in life! Ha!) would drop everything to drive to Nashville from Huntsville to just hold my hand and let me cry. My best friend, Carla, who has been my best friend from 12 grade, roommates for all 4 years of college at Millsaps College, and now lives in Kansas City with her adorable hubby and little girls, jumped on a plane and was in Nashville before I even got off work one weekend just to get me out of the house and back out into normal life! My other best friend, Eve, who I am a pharmacist with at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, is my younger, brighter, fashionista and newest “sister” friend. She has been such a blessing in my life as she taught me to laugh again and to get back to my old “sassy fabukous” self! And even though she is 5 years younger than me and has never been through a divorce, has been a listening ear and given some of the best advice I’ve ever heard. (as well as been my back up for if she runs into my ex-husband around town:-)
Life after such a dark moment has never been brighter and its mainly due to these women who have lifted me up!

    Thank you!
    Allyson

I must tell you about my girlfriend “Ellen”. Ellen and I joined Weight Watchers 2 years ago and together we made “lifetime. We have literally supported each other through thick and thin. We work out together……. even if it’s just the treadmill!! And talk out our everday problems. I have a difficult next month. You see my only child “Ryan” was a police officer in Ft. Lauderdale. He was killed on duty at the age of 23. Ellen has listened and cried with me on all of the sad anniversaries. I am so very lucky to call Ellen my friend!!
      Thank you, Tina Lambert
