Womanista Travel: UK Snapshots

Cheers, from the UK, womanistas! (Glasgow currently, to be specific!) I’m spending the month of July sacrificing for my wifely duties and playing the part of European traveler/tour groupie while my husband performs across Europe with his band. (I know, it’s a really tough job and I am certainly the best wife in the world for even considering tagging along!)

All kidding aside, it has been a spectacular trip so far and I wanted to share a few iphone snapshots with you womanistas. Enjoy, and let me know if you have any travel tips for me!

Serious hardware! These cool british beer taps are on display at the Punchbowl Pub in London

The view of these classically british buildings is just off Charlotte Street

an equally delicious and proper martini from famed bistro “The Ivy” in London

The super-cool (and historic!) “Dog and Duck” pub in the Soho neighborhood of London

One of my favorite paintings from British artist Susie Hamilton – “White Beach 5″ – photographed in her studio off Copperfield road in London

The open kitchen at “L’Gueleton” in Dublin. Such a cozy, yummy french bistro. Dubliners also refer to this place at “the no name restaurant” because it has no signage!

The obligatory “I’m drinking a pint of Guinness at a pub in Dublin” pic. Plus I’m wearing my favorite studded jacket from Current/Elliot..

The Olympia Theatre is my favourite venue in the entire world. I love the photo you got of it. I was there on the second night standing in the pit. Such a fun and friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to more posts!

Oops I see you’re not getting to Edinburgh this trip.

In Edinburgh earlier this year, the best meal my husband and I had was at The Kitchin in Leith. I highly recommend it if you have time and if you’re heading there from Glasgow. Wedgwood was a lovely little spot along the Royal Mile as well. Love your UK pics.

My best friend lives in Ireland, such a shame she was home in Norway at the time you all where in Ireland. Don’t get me wrong, good to have my best friend in the same country, but we did have plans going to both concerts at Olympia! Dublin is awsome, and Guiness is dangerously good;) Have a blast in Glasgow. BTW, when you are all going to Norway, don’t settle for Rignes Beer, you should have HANSA!

I will try the HANSA! thanks for the tip :-)

I’ve got only one suggestion, you MUST go for lunch at Langan’s Brasserie in Mayfair when in London. It is has amazing atmosphere, gorgeous art on the walls and the food is to die for!

Thanks, Amy! Sounds fabulous! I’ll check it out…
